Lupine Meadow at Sunset, Sabrina Basin, Inyo National Forest
I photographed this scene in August 2024 on a backpacking trip into Sabrina Basin with my friend Courtney. I had packed up my camera for that evening and returned to camp for dinner when I saw the last light of day light up the surrounding peaks. I dropped my dinner and hiked back out in search of a composition when I stumbled upon this field of lupines. I shot several exposures of this scene before the alpenglow faded completely from the peaks.
