Alpenglow on Half Dome, Yosemite National Park
I made this composition in February 2021 during the first of a series of winter trips to Yosemite National Park. I “postholed” through some deep snowbanks on my way to the banks of the Merced River to witness the alpenglow on Half Dome. I tried my hand at several different angles, including one with the reflection on the water’s surface, but found this composition to work best to capture the crisp and clear light from that evening.
